What is the Kindness Challenge?

Kindness Bag 2026

Every act of kindness has a beginning. For us, it started with a simple visit. In 2023, the Spinato's team visited the St. Vincent de Paul Watkins Campus.

As we walked through the campus, listened to stories, and witnessed the growing needs within our own community, we left with one question on our hearts: How can we make it easier for everyone to be part of the solution?

That question became the beginning of the Kindness Challenge. Today, we're incredibly proud to celebrate our 4th year of the Kindness Challenge. What started as one simple idea has grown into a year-round movement of compassion, bringing together our guests, team members, partners, and sponsors to create meaningful change across the Valley.

Our very first initiative was the creation of the Kindness Bag. For just $5, guests could purchase a bag filled with essential items like toiletries, snacks, bottled water, socks, hats, and other everyday necessities. Better yet, 100% of every Kindness Bag purchased was donated directly to St. Vincent de Paul, helping provide comfort and care to individuals experiencing homelessness.

What happened next exceeded every expectation. Our guests didn't just purchase Kindness Bags. They embraced the mission. Families kept them in their cars to hand to someone in need. Children proudly participated in their first act of giving. Our restaurant teams rallied behind the cause, and together our community purchased and distributed more than 500 Kindness Bags.

That first project taught us something we'll never forget: kindness is contagious. Since then, the Kindness Challenge has continued to grow, creating opportunities throughout the year to support children, families, veterans, and neighbors facing difficult circumstances. While each activation looks a little different, they all share the same purpose: bringing people together to make our community a little brighter, one act of kindness at a time.

Purchase a kindness bag!

You can purchase a Kindness bag at any of Spinato's 6 locations for $5 starting in September and running through the end of the month. 100%of the proceeds go towards St. Vincent de Paul Phoenix.
