Spinato's Kindness Challenge: Helping Students Start the School Year Strong

For the third consecutive year, Spinato's Pizzeria & Family Kitchen is proud to support local students through our annual Back-to-School fundraising campaign benefiting A New Leaf and the children and families they serve throughout Arizona.

This year's drive is especially meaningful because it marks the launch of our larger Kindness Challenge, an ongoing initiative dedicated to creating positive change through acts of kindness in the communities we call home. Throughout the year, we'll be partnering with local organizations, businesses, and community members to support causes that make a lasting impact, and our Back-to-School campaign is the perfect place to begin.

Why This Matters

While many families look forward to the excitement of a new school year, back-to-school shopping can create significant financial stress. According to the National Retail Federation, families with children in elementary through high school spend an average of more than $858 per family on back-to-school expenses, including school supplies, clothing, electronics, and other essentials. For families already facing financial hardship, these costs can be overwhelming.

Many parents are forced to make difficult choices between purchasing school supplies and covering basic necessities such as housing, food, transportation, and healthcare. Without access to the tools they need to succeed, students can begin the school year at a disadvantage before they even step into the classroom.

That's why community support is so important.

A New Way to Give

In previous years, our guests generously donated school supplies and supported the cause through dessert purchases, with a portion of proceeds benefiting local students in need.

This year, we're making it even easier to help.

From now through the end of June, guests can simply round up their bill to the nearest dollar when dining at any Spinato's location. Every penny raised will help provide essential school supplies and resources to children served by A New Leaf.

Our goal is to raise $9,000 across our restaurants, helping students start the school year with confidence and the tools they need to learn, grow, and thrive.

Supporting the Mission of A New Leaf

For more than 50 years, A New Leaf has been providing critical services to individuals and families throughout Arizona. Their programs support those experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, financial hardship, and other life challenges, helping families find stability and build brighter futures.

Through this partnership, funds raised during our Back-to-School campaign will directly benefit children and families participating in A New Leaf programs, ensuring students have access to the supplies they need for a successful school year.
