Cool Off, Get Creative & Give Back: Join Us For Paint & Skate With Cowtown S.K.A.T.E.

Hey Spinato's family — have you heard about our Paint & Skate events yet? If you haven't, you're in for a treat (and I don't just mean pizza 😉).

We started Paint & Skate back in 2024 as part of our big 50th Anniversary celebration — yep, 51 years strong now, all thanks to you! We wanted to do something unique that mixed creativity, good times, and, of course, our favorite part of being in business: giving back to the community that's supported us for half a century.

We found the perfect partner in Cowtown S.K.A.T.E. If you grew up skating in Arizona, you know Cowtown is a local legend. For 25 years, they've been hosting events, hooking up local skaters with gear, and working with cities to build proper skate parks — not just the abandoned parking lots we used to claim as kids. (Shoutout to my fellow '90s kids 😜)

At Cowtown S.K.A.T.E.'s most recent Boards for the Barrio event, they united with friends in the Phoenix area to celebrate the transformative power of skateboarding. They handed out over 150 brand new skateboards to our youth, and by working closer with the city, Cowtown S.K.A.T.E. continues to enrich the lives of children through skateboarding while empowering communities and city leaders.

What makes Paint & Skate special is how it blends all the things we love: community, art, and staying cool during these scorching Arizona summers. At each event, you get to paint your very own skateboard deck — with a custom design from our friends at Sentient Tattoo — and a portion of proceeds goes right back into Cowtown S.K.A.T.E. to help them mentor and uplift local youth through skateboarding.

We've seen families, friends, and even first-time artists get inspired while painting their decks, swapping stories, and hanging out over some delicious Spinato's pizza. It's honestly one of our team's and guests' favorite ways to spend a summer afternoon: out of the heat, surrounded by smiling faces, and giving back to a cause that keeps our community rolling forward.
