Shandelle has been part of our Spinato's family at the Tempe location for a couple of years, and she recently brought her talents into our Marketing & Outreach department as an intern. Her bubbly, fun-loving personality and lighthearted silliness keep everyone smiling. But don't let the laughter fool you—Shandelle is also incredibly creative. She's shared fresh, thoughtful ideas that have truly added value to our team. 

Hi everyone! My name is Shandelle Whalen, and I have worked at Spinato's for the past two years. Fall is my favorite time of the year to work at the restaurant. Why, you may ask? Two words – pumpkin cheesecake.

You may have noticed that every year when you order our cheesecake, it isn't just any ordinary cheesecake. I hope you are as pleasantly surprised as I am when I see that pumpkin cheesecake swirl on top, paired with our creamy caramel sauce and crushed candy pecans.

Every fall, the cheesecake is all the buzz between staff members. When does the shipment arrive? When can we start serving it to guests? Is there an extra slice? Or two? Or three? It's a great day when there's an extra slice that we get to share among our coworkers. And trust me, no one ever complains when that happens—it's the best perk of the season.

Every once in a while, I feel like it's necessary to splurge a little extra and take home a cheesecake for myself, as well as my college roommates. Imagine enjoying your favorite dessert alongside your favorite people, maybe pairing it with a bottle of sparkling rosé (also served in our restaurant) while watching a fall favorite like Gilmore Girls. I personally can't think of anything better.

Pumpkin cheesecake isn't just a dessert—it's a tradition that brings staff and guests together year after year. From the excitement in our kitchen to the smiles at the table, it's one of those seasonal treats that makes fall at Spinato's so special. But just like the season, it doesn't last forever. So come in, grab a slice (or two), and make pumpkin cheesecake part of your own fall tradition before it's gone until next year.
