Back-To-School: Kindness Challenge

Even though summer has just begun, many families are already starting to think ahead to the back-to-school season. Between preparing schedules, shopping for supplies, and getting kids ready for a new school year, the months ahead can quickly become overwhelming for parents and caregivers.

For kids, going back to school means reconnecting with friends, moving up a grade, and stepping into new opportunities and experiences. It's a season filled with excitement, anticipation, and fresh beginnings, even if they don't always show it.

But for many families, back-to-school preparation also brings financial stress. According to the National Retail Federation, the average family spends nearly $860 on back-to-school shopping each year. From backpacks and notebooks to clothes and classroom essentials, those costs can add up quickly, especially for families already facing financial hardships.

That's why the Kenneth Anthony Spinato Foundation, along with our Presenting Partner, Phoenix Suns/Phoenix Mercury Foundation , and many generous sponsors and community partners, are teaming up this June to support A New Leaf, an incredible organization that helps families in need with housing, employment, food assistance, and school supplies.

Throughout the month of June, Spinato's guests will have the opportunity to participate in our Back-to-School Round-Up Campaign. By simply rounding up your purchase to the nearest dollar while dining in or ordering takeout, you can help provide essential school supplies and support for local children and families preparing for the upcoming school year. Every small contribution adds up to make a meaningful impact.

By participating, you're helping ease the burden on parents while giving children the opportunity to walk into the classroom prepared, confident, and ready to learn. Together, we can make this back-to-school season a little less stressful and a lot more hopeful for families across our community.
